Frequently Asked Questions | Good Beauty

At Good Beauty, we believe potent, small-batch skincare should feel simple and effective. Below are answers to our most common questions about ingredients, pregnancy safety, subscriptions, shipping, and routines.

Shipping & Delivery

Where do you ship?

We currently ship within the United States only.

How much is shipping?

Shipping is free on orders over $175. For orders below that threshold, shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Orders are processed within 24–48 business hours (often same day). Delivery timelines typically range from 3–7 business days depending on your shipping zone. Orders ship Monday through Friday.

My order says delivered but I didn’t receive it. What should I do?

If your tracking shows "delivered," we recommend first checking with neighbors or household members and then contacting the shipping carrier directly to file a claim. If you need help locating tracking information, our support team is happy to assist.

My order arrived damaged. What now?

Please email hello@goodbeauty.com within 7 days of delivery and include photos of the damaged item and packaging so we can help resolve the issue quickly.

Returns & Guarantee

What is your return policy?

We offer a 60-day money-back guarantee on first-time purchases. If you're not satisfied, we want to make it right.

How do I start a return?

Email hello@goodbeauty.com with your order number and we’ll guide you through the next steps.

Are subscription orders refundable?

No. Because we produce in small batches and reserve inventory in advance for subscription members, subscription orders are final once processed.

We send reminder emails before each subscription renewal so you have time to adjust, skip, or cancel before it ships.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

You can manage your subscription through the link in your order confirmation email. If you need assistance, email hello@goodbeauty.com and we’ll help you.

Routine & Layering

What order should I use Good Beauty products in?

Our core ritual follows three intentional steps: cleanse, treat, moisturize.

Morning (AM)

  1. Cleansing Oil (optional if skin feels balanced)
  2. Miracle Serum
  3. Dream Cream
  4. SPF (we always recommend daily sun protection)

Evening (PM)

  1. Cleansing Oil
  2. Miracle Serum
  3. Dream Cream

For a more minimal routine, Dream Cream can be used after cleansing on its own. However, for best results, we recommend using all three consistently.

Can I use Dream Cream with vitamin C, retinol, or exfoliating acids?

Yes — Dream Cream is designed to layer well with most skincare routines.

With vitamin C: Apply vitamin C first on clean skin, then follow with Dream Cream to hydrate and support the barrier.

With retinol: Dream Cream contains bakuchiol, a plant-based retinol alternative that supports smoother-looking skin without the irritation commonly associated with traditional retinol. For many people, bakuchiol is gentle enough for daily use and may serve as a more balanced alternative. If you are using a strong retinoid, you can layer Dream Cream over it to support barrier repair. Sensitive skin types may prefer alternating nights.

With exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA): Apply acids first, allow full absorption, then follow with Dream Cream to replenish hydration and reinforce the skin barrier.

If irritation occurs, scale back active ingredients and allow your barrier time to reset.

What should I expect when I first start using the products?

When switching to more concentrated, active skincare, it’s normal for your skin to go through a short adjustment period.

Because our formulas are highly active and made without dilution, some people may notice temporary redness, warmth, tingling, or mild sensitivity during the first few uses. This is often due to increased circulation in the skin as it responds to the ingredients.

Many of the botanicals, peptides, and actives we use work by gently stimulating blood flow and supporting the skin’s natural repair processes. Healthy circulation plays an important role in collagen production, lymphatic drainage, cellular renewal, and overall skin vitality. When circulation is supported, the skin can appear more flushed at first, but over time this typically leads to improved tone, glow, and resilience.

For most people, this adjustment period settles within a few days as the skin acclimates.

That said, everyone’s skin is different. If something feels uncomfortable or doesn’t seem right for your skin, you should discontinue use and reach out to us. We offer a 60-day return window on first time orders so you have time to see how your skin responds without feeling rushed.

Ingredients & Transparency

Do Good Beauty products contain synthetic fragrance?

No — we never use synthetic fragrance or parfum in any of our formulas.

Any aroma you notice comes directly from the real ingredients themselves, including functional botanicals and essential oils chosen for their skin-supporting benefits.

I’m sensitive to scent. Which product should I choose?

Miracle Serum contains blue tansy, which has a natural herbaceous scent.

Dream Cream and Cleansing Oil  have very subtle, naturally occurring aromas from their raw, active ingredients.

Are your products gluten-free?

Yes — all Good Beauty products are gluten-free.

Do your products contain soy?

Miracle Serum and Cleansing Oil do not contain any soy-derived ingredients.

Dream Cream contains a peptide complex called Dermapeptide®. During its manufacturing process, plant extracts — including soybean extract — are used at the beginning of fermentation. The ingredient then undergoes purification where soy proteins (the components responsible for allergic reactions) are removed. The final ingredient is a purified lipid extract and ferment, meaning allergenic soy proteins are not present in the finished formulation.

If you have a known soy allergy, we recommend performing a patch test prior to full application.

Are your products safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Our products are formulated with clean, non-toxic, pregnancy-conscious ingredients and are made without retinoids, parabens, synthetic fragrance, or known endocrine disruptors.

Bakuchiol is widely considered a pregnancy-friendly alternative to retinol, but because pregnancy and postpartum skin can be highly individual, we always recommend reviewing the ingredient list with your OB, midwife, or healthcare provider for personal guidance.

Why does Good Beauty use tallow in Dream Cream?

We use organic, grass-fed tallow because it closely resembles the composition of our skin’s natural oils.

Tallow is rich in skin-supportive lipids and fat-soluble vitamins that help reinforce the barrier, support hydration, and promote resilience. Unlike water-heavy creams that rely on fillers and preservatives, Dream Cream is a waterless formula built around nutrient-dense ingredients that actively support the skin.

Is Dream Cream bleached or chemically deodorized?

No — our tallow is never bleached.

It is gently deodorized through controlled, low-heat rendering and physical filtration — not through chemicals or bleaching agents. Heating is carefully monitored to prevent oxidation or nutrient degradation. The tallow is strained to remove impurities, creating a cleaner finish without compromising potency.

Is Dream Cream non-comedogenic?

Dream Cream is formulated with ingredients considered non-comedogenic or low-comedogenic for most skin types. Properly rendered tallow closely mimics natural sebum and is typically well tolerated. As always, individual reactions may vary.

What skin types are Good Beauty products best for?

Our formulas are designed to support dry, sensitive, mature, combination, and acne-prone skin — especially those experiencing barrier disruption, dehydration, or irritation.

Shelf Life & Storage

What is the shelf life?

All three core products have a 12-month shelf life.

Because we formulate without added synthetic preservatives and prioritize small-batch production, we recommend using your products within 12 months for optimal performance and potency. Like farm-to-table food, freshness matters.

How should I store my products?

Our formulas are made with concentrated, whole ingredients and minimal preservatives, so proper storage helps maintain their quality and stability.

Store products in a cool, dry place, keep lids tightly closed, and avoid introducing water into the container during use.

Just like organic foods or natural oils, environment and moisture can affect products made with fewer preservatives.

How should I store Dream Cream?

Dream Cream is a waterless formula made with organic tallow. In warmer climates, the texture may soften.

You may store it in the refrigerator for a firmer consistency. Temperature changes will not affect potency — only texture. Store all products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Small-Batch Philosophy

Why does Good Beauty produce in small batches?

We intentionally formulate and produce in small batches to preserve freshness, maintain tighter quality control, and protect ingredient integrity.

Unlike mass-produced skincare that may sit in warehouses for extended periods, our approach ensures you receive product at its most effective state.

Patch Testing

How should I patch test a new product?

Apply a small amount to a discreet area such as the inner wrist or behind the ear. Leave on for 24 hours and monitor for redness, itching, or irritation before full use.

If sensitivity occurs, discontinue use and consult your healthcare provider if needed.
